Roman Bridge Although known as the Roman bridge (or Puente Romano) the reality is that there is some doubt over who was responsible for it's construction. Though the most likely event is that the bridge was constructed during the reign of Julius Caesar. What is known is that it underwent numerous modifications in 918AD and now comprises 16 arches and a distinctive Moorish style. In the centre of the bridge is a statue of St. Rafael dating from the 17th century.
